Managing store policies

Updated over 8 months ago

Creating store policies is essential for delivering a clear and enjoyable experience for your customers, and it can also help boost your sales! With Mash Commerce Cloud™, setting up policies such as free shipping and first order emails is easy and hassle-free. These helpful tools not only ensure that you meet your customers’ expectations but also inspire larger orders and encourage repeat business.

Free shipping policy

Free shipping is one of the most effective ways to encourage customers to place larger orders. With Mash Commerce Cloud™, you can set conditions to make this incentive work for your business.

How free shipping works

Customers qualify for free shipping if they meet one of the criteria you set:

  1. Order value threshold: Set a minimum order value (e.g., $50) to qualify for free shipping.

  2. Number of items: Specify the minimum number of items in an order to earn free shipping.

Example: A customer spends $55 or buys 3 bottles, both meeting the conditions for free shipping.

How it affects your payouts

  • When a customer qualifies for free shipping, the cost of shipping is deducted as an expense from your retailer payout.

  • This process is seamless and ensures you have full transparency.

How to enable free shipping

  1. Go to the Store policies section in your Mash Commerce Cloud™ dashboard.

  2. Select Free shipping and set the desired threshold (e.g., $50 or 3 items).

  3. Click Save to activate the policy.

Pro Tip: Clearly advertise your free shipping policy on your marketing website, emails, and other marketing content to encourage larger purchases.

First order email

The first order email is an automated message sent to customers 90 days after their first purchase. It’s an easy way to re-engage customers and drive repeat sales, with the option to include a discount incentive.

How first order email works

  • A thank-you email is sent 90 days after a customer places their first order.

  • You can include an optional 10% off coupon or another discount to encourage a second purchase.

How to Enable First Order Emails

  1. Go to the Store policies section.

  2. Select First order email and activate the feature.

  3. Check the box to include a 10% off coupon (if desired).

  4. Click Save to enable the policy.

Pro Tip: Personalize your email message with gratitude and highlight popular products or upcoming promotions to make the message even more effective.

Best practices for managing store policies

  • Review regularly: Ensure that your policies are updated to align with your latest business goals and promotional strategies.

  • Be transparent: Clearly communicate your policies to customers in marketing communications.

  • Track performance: Use analytics to monitor how policies like free shipping or first order emails impact customer behavior and adjust as needed.
