Archiving products

Updated over 7 months ago

If you find that you no longer need a product in your active catalog, archiving it is a great option! When you archive a product, it’s gently removed from your store and made unavailable for purchase, but don’t worry—this is different from deletion! Archiving is reversible, so you can easily restore any product if you change your mind. This feature works wonderfully for discontinued items, seasonal products, or whenever you need to temporarily hide something.

Steps to archive a product

  1. Navigate to the Product catalog section

  2. Go to the Product catalog tab from the main menu.

  3. This will display all your products in either a list or card view.

  4. Find the product you want to archive.

  5. Click on the product name or the corresponding options menu (e.g., a settings icon).

Select the Product to Archive

  • Find the product you want to archive.

  • Click on the product name or the corresponding options menu (e.g., a settings icon).

Verify Archival

  • Once archived, the product will no longer appear in your active catalog or store.

  • Archived products can be found in the Archived Products section within the Product Catalog tab.

How to restore an archived product

If you need to bring back an archived product:

  1. Go to the Archived products section in the Product catalog tab.

  2. Find the product you want to restore.

  3. Click Restore Product to reactivate it. The product will return to your active catalog and can be re-added to stores.

Best practices for archiving products

  1. Review dependencies: Ensure the product isn’t part of any active promotions, bundles, or featured product lists before archiving.

  2. Communicate with customers: Notify customers about discontinued or seasonal products via email or social media.

  3. Backup data: Use archiving instead of permanent deletion to retain sales history and product configurations for future reference.
